Sophie set up hungarymud after experiencing the powerful effects of mud treatments while travelling for her book: 'Healing Sources - Spas and Wellbeing from the Baltic to the Black Sea'.
"I love mud because it works. And it's so sensual! Some years ago, I went on a spa journey through 12 countries in central Europe. Of all the therapies this region is famous for, mud is hailed, again and again, as a real proposition for cure.
With its medical credentials and organic beauty properties, hungarymud is a potent mineral-rich, minimalist miracle in skincare. It also has huge scope for today's spas."
Sophie is also a feminine embodiment mentor. She helps women connect to their innate femininity for living with more happiness, self-esteem and sensual pleasure. She offers courses, retreats and massages. www.sophiebenge.com

hungarymud comes from an alluvial plain in rural Hungary where it's been excavated in the same manner since the 1890s. It was discovered when local farmers noticed how their animals were more fertile than their neighbours' so they invited government health ministers to evaluate their water and earth. They were deemed so therapeutic that authorities dug a well, a bore hole and built a spa. People flocked to the area for the 'cure'.
To this day, the mud treats more than 1,000 patients a week - who suffer from inflammatory conditions - in Budapest's glamorous city spas.
A real heritage product with a therapeutic lineage.
